5 wild elephants swept away from Nepal saved in UP's Bahraich

A herd of five wild elephants, including two calves, swept away by strong currents from Nepal, was safely rescued in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district. The incident occurred as floodwaters entered the Kaudiyala river, carrying the herd towards Girjapuri Barrage. Officials closed the barrage gates to slow the water velocity, allowing the elephants to reach safety in the forest.
