Around 50 television channels in India surrendered broadcast licences over the last three years amid falling viewership, ad revenue declines, and rising digital consumption, ET reported, citing Ministry of Information and Broadcasting data. Broadcasters, including JioStar, Zee, Eenadu Television, NDTV, and ABP Network, exited. Pay DTH subscribers fell from 72 million in FY19 to 62 million in FY24.
