The latest QS World University Rankings 2027 feature 52 Indian universities, making the country the fifth most represented higher education system. IIT Delhi ranked highest in India, climbing to 118th position globally, followed by IIT Bombay at 134 and IIT Madras at 170. The rankings showed that 26 Indian universities improved their positions and nine maintained their rankings.
