6.2-magnitude earthquake hits off Papua New Guinea coast

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck the South Pacific Ocean off the coast of Papua New Guinea's New Ireland province on Saturday, USGS said. The quake occurred at a depth of approximately 72 kilometres, about 115 kilometres southeast of the town of Kokopo. Reports indicated that the earthquake lasted about a minute, with no significant damage was reported in the area.
