Two Philadelphia police officers reported seeing an object about six feet in diameter descend into a field in September 1950, the declassified US UAP/UFO files revealed. The object, which emitted a purplish mist-like glow, broke when they attempted to pick it up, leaving a slight odourless residue. It completely disintegrated over the next 25 minutes as the officers watched.
