Deepak Sandhu becomes first woman Chief Information Commissioner

Former Information Commissioner, Deepak Sandhu (64) on Thursday became the first woman Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the country, succeeding Satyananda Mishra who headed the Bench that declared political parties to be under the ambit of RTI Act. Sandhu had served in many key positions like Principal Director General(Media and Communications) in Press Information Bureau and Director General of DD(News).
