A 65-year-old mechanic from Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district has built an escalator for his wife, who suffers from severe knee pain, to help her reach their house's first floor. He studied only till Class 5 as his village had no school nearby. He made the escalator in 20 days, depending on his experience of repairing tractors and farm machines.
