India's first National Household Travel Survey found that 66.4% of students aged six and above travel over 1 km to educational institutions. Walking is the most common student commute mode, followed by buses and bicycles. Among workers, 42.6% rely on two-wheelers, while 57.6% travel over 1 km to workplaces. The survey covered over 20 lakh people nationwide.
