The CBI has held that 19-year-old Ishrat Jahan was killed in a "fake" encounter in 2004. It has chargesheeted 7-police officers including absconding Additional DGP PP Pandey and suspended DIG D G Vanzara, in the case, with abduction, illegal confinement and murder of 4-persons, saying it was a joint operation between Gujarat police and the subsidiary Intelligence Bureau.
