67-year-old doctor avoids open brain surgery with MMA embolization
A 67-year-old doctor from Jabalpur with a large subdural hematoma avoided open brain surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Mumbai. Doctors treated him using minimally invasive Middle Meningeal Artery embolization, despite his blood-thinning medication for an existing heart condition. The hematoma reduced from 22 mm to 6 mm in a month and disappeared completely after six weeks, and made a full recovery.
