68-million-yr-old fossil found in Antarctica is world's 2nd-largest egg: Scientists

A 68-million-year-old fossil found in Antarctica in 2011, is the largest soft-shell egg ever discovered and the second-largest egg belonging to any known animal, researchers at the University of Texas said. They believe the egg belonged to mosasaurs- marine reptiles that lived alongside dinosaurs. The egg, measuring 8 by 11 inches, is only smaller than eggs of Madagascar's elephant birds.
