NYU Stern Professor Scott Galloway said on the podcast that a Google job opening gets 200 CVs in about 20 minutes. In 70% of cases, the person hired had an internal advocate, “more than just a reference,” he said. “The key is how do you have as many friends and champions in as many places as possible?" he added.
