At least 71 people were killed in an Israeli strike on Iran's Evin prison last week, a notorious facility long criticised for its treatment of political prisoners and foreign detainees. Iran's judiciary confirmed the killings after truce came into effect between Israel and Iran. The victims included prison guards, staff, inmates, visiting family members and civilians living near the site.
