Seventy-two doctors from across India were collectively cheated of ₹2 crore by a man named Sharad Hegde. Hegde met them at a five-star hotel in Mumbai's Powai at a doctors' conference and posed as a tour operator, Mumbai Police said. He kept making excuses after collecting payments from doctors by promising to arrange a trip for them to Azerbaijan's Baku.
