A 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit Japan today, triggering a tsunami warning for the country's northeast coast. As per US Geological Survey, the earthquake was centred 34 km east of Ishinomaki at a depth of 60 km. The Kyodo News agency said its epicentre was off the coast of Miyagi prefecture, which was heavily damaged due to earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
