At least eight people were killed and five injured after a fire broke out at a firecracker factory in Ahmedabad's Mahmudpura area on Friday. The injured were admitted to hospital as rescue operations continued. Police said factory operator Mehul Dodiya's licence had been cancelled, but firecracker manufacturing was allegedly still being carried out at the unit.
