An 8-month-old leopard cub was rescued from a Guwahati home late Wednesday night. Officials believe it may have come from nearby Gotanagar Reserve Forest. The cub is healthy and now at the state zoo. Forest staff warned locals to stay alert as more wild cats, including possibly the mother, could be nearby.
