Finance Ministry on Wednesday said the Centre has released eight months of GST compensation for FY22 to states and compensation worth ₹78,704 crore is pending due to inadequate balance in the cess fund. During GST's implementation in 2017, Centre had agreed to compensate states till June 2022. It added that ₹7.35 lakh crore has been released to compensate revenue loss.
