Eight new IITs established in 2008-09 fell short on almost all performance, administrative and infrastructure parameters, a CAG audit report reviewed by Hindustan Times said. Activities of IIT Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Mandi, Patna and Ropar from 2014-2019 were reviewed. Only 6,224 students against the targeted intake of 18,880 were admitted in the first six years.
