Eight new police stations have been formed in the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate area in North 24 Parganas district by the West Bengal government, an official said. He added that while Dakshineswar was formed out of Belghoria and Baranagar police station areas, the Nagerbazar police station was carved out of Dumdum. Naihati saw the formation of Shibdaspur and Halisahar police stations.
