Tripura becomes most literate state, leaves Kerala behind

Tripura with 94.65% literacy-rate, soared from 4th position in 2011 to beat Kerala (93.91%) and become the most-literate Indian state, announced Tripura CM Manik Sarkar on International Literacy Day(Sunday). According to 2011 census, Mizoram (91.58%) is the next most-literate Indian state, well above the national literacy-rate of 74.04%; while, Bihar (63.82%) and Arunachal Pradesh (66.95%) are placed lowest in literacy.
