9 dead in rain-related incidents across Kerala

At least nine persons died in rain-related incidents across Malappuram, Kottayam, and Idukki districts of Kerala. Six tourists drowned in a flash flood in Kottapuzha river; one body remains missing. A Tamil Nadu woman died in a landslide in Kottayam, and two died in a mudslide in Idukki. CM Satheesan visited affected areas and promised ex-gratia compensation.
