According to SEBI data, 91% corporate bond issues worth ₹8.94 lakh crore were rated safe for investment during the first half of the ongoing fiscal. Out of 479 bond issues, 41 (worth ₹4,285 crore) were assigned ‘non-investment grade’ (having high risk of defaulting). In comparison, 639 issues (worth ₹24,329 crore) out of 1,179 were rated unsafe in the year-ago period.
