A total of 916 candidates contesting the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls reportedly have declared criminal cases against themselves. Out of these 916 candidates, reportedly 600 have declared serious criminal cases, while 27 have declared convicted cases. In the previous Maharashtra Assembly polls in 2014, 798 candidates had declared criminal cases against themselves.
