A 92-year-old retired surgeon in Delhi was cheated of ₹2.2 crore in a ‘digital arrest’ scam. He received calls from people posing as TRAI and Maharashtra Police officials, who blackmailed him after falsely claiming that multiple FIRs were filed against him. Delhi Police busted the racket, recovered the amount and arrested two men after tracing them from Ghaziabad and Guwahati.
