96-year-old Ashkin becomes the oldest person to win Nobel Prize

American physicist Arthur Ashkin, aged 96 years, became the oldest-ever person to win the Nobel Prize on Tuesday. With his 2018 Physics Nobel for laser research, Ashkin surpassed late economist Leonid Hurwicz, who won the 2007 Prize in Economic Sciences as a 90-year-old. The previous oldest Physics Laureate was late astrophysicist Raymond Davis Jr, awarded in 2002 when aged 88.
