Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani revealed that a director called 'Munna Bhai MBBS' a "disaster" after attending its trial show. "He told me, ‘What have you done? Sanjay Dutt is an action hero, and you’re making a film with him set in a hospital? This should've been a colourful film," he recalled. It bagged the National Film Award for Best Popular Film.
