Multiplex Association Of India dismissed filmmaker Karan Johar's remarks on costly movie tickets and food and beverages at theatres. It stated that "the total average expenditure for a family of four [is] ₹1,560 - significantly different from the ₹10,000 figure" claimed by Johar. "In 2023, the average ticket price across all cinemas in India was ₹130 per ticket," it added.
