Filmmaker Karan Johar congratulated Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji on their first-ever National Film Award on August 1. He called 'Jawan' "a testament to his exceptional acting" and Rani "the queen of every screen she is in." Further he wrote, "I won my first National Award with these two & Kajol for 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'."
