A Himachal Pradesh wedding has been making headlines as the bride married two brothers. This is a custom called Jodidara in the Hatti community. Polyandry is, or was, practised in many Indian societies, including Himachal's Kinnauris, Nilgiri's Todas, and Uttarakhand's Garhwalis. Some of these draw from Mahabharata, in which Draupadi was married to the five Pandava brothers.
