Singapore's A*STAR has launched the world's first 200 mm (8-inch) open R&D silicon carbide (SiC) production line, aimed at advancing high-power electronics like EVs and data centers. Operated by the Institute of Microelectronics, the line integrates end-to-end processes and will collaborate with firms like centrotherm, ASM, and Soitec.
