When lord Shiva was grieving for his beloved wife Sati, he carried her corpse around the world. According to the Puranas, when a droplet of his tears fell at a spot, a lake was formed. This lake is located in Punjab province of Pakistan and named Katas. The famous Yaksha Prashna of the epic Mahabharata also took place here.
