A traffic jam in China in August 2010 lasted for over 10 days, with the cars spanning a distance of about 100 kilometres. Considered to be the longest traffic jam ever, it was observed along the Beijing-Tibet expressway. The congestion is said to have been caused by road construction and a large number of trucks.
