Assam has officially recognised Aaranyak’s Wildlife Genetics Lab and its director Udayan Borthakur as a forensic authority under the new BNSS law. This historic move enables the lab to assist in wildlife crime investigations using DNA evidence, boosting prosecution strength. Aaranyak has supported 135 wildlife cases and leads genetic research in Northeast India.
