Abhishek Banerjee's aide arrested after SC rejects bail plea

TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee's aide Sumit Roy was arrested by the CID on Thursday in connection with a land scam case, after the Supreme Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea. Roy was arrested from Banerjee's Kalighat residence over the alleged illegal sale of government land in West Bengal. He had been summoned to the state CID headquarters on several occasions.
