TMC chief Mamata Banerjee claimed her nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee could have died in the Sonarpur attack had he not been wearing a helmet. She alleged he later developed blood clots and that the BJP and police pressured hospitals and doctors to discharge him. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi offered to arrange treatment for him in Hyderabad, Mamata said.
