Abraham Lincoln created Secret Service the day he was shot

The 16th President of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln, established the Secret Service the day he was shot at the Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC, by John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln, who was shot on April 14, 1865, was the first American President to be assassinated. He later died in the early morning hours of April 15.
