A day after the MEA's clarification that an Indian passport is not conclusive proof of citizenship, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday questioned the government's position. Calling it an "absurd legal paradox" and a "fatuous controversy", Tharoor said citizens were left in "administrative limbo". He also urged a legislative overhaul to remove ambiguity over citizenship proof.
