The accused in the alleged IIM Calcutta rape incident admitted to purchasing sleeping pills to spike the victim's cold drinks, a senior police officer said. The victim, after consuming the drinks, went to a room in the boys' hostel where the alleged crime took place, he added. The police had earlier constituted a nine-member SIT to probe the case.
