ACs, air coolers may soon get costlier

Prices of air conditioners and air coolers may witness a 2% to 3% hike in the next quarter, according to officials of some home appliance companies. Amid record-breaking heatwave in parts of India, sales of cooling appliances surged between March and May. This unprecedented demand is causing supply shortages, making raw materials like copper and aluminium 20-30% costlier, companies said.
