Activist Irom Sharmila married her longtime partner, British citizen Desmond Coutinho, in Tamil Nadu's Kodaikanal in the presence of several friends. No family members of either Sharmila or Coutinho were present when they signed official documents at registrar's office. The 45-year-old 'Iron Lady of Manipur' ended a 16-year-long fast in 2016, contested and lost Manipur Assembly polls this year.
