Social activist and Padma Shri awardee Avdhash Kaushal passed away at 84 on Tuesday following a prolonged illness. Kaushal died at a private hospital in Dehradun. He headed the Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra NGO which was focused on development work amongst tribal communities in the Dehradun district. He founded the NGO in the late 1970s.
