Veteran actor Dharmendra, who passed away aged 89 on Monday, entered politics in 2004 after joining the BJP. The party fielded him from the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan, where he defeated Congress candidate Rameshwar Lal Dudi by nearly 60,000 votes. He later said, "I did the work, but someone else took the credit. Perhaps politics wasn't for me."
