Adani Power Ltd (APL) acquired Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd (VIPL) for ₹4,000 crore on Monday. This boosts Adani Power's operating capacity to 18,150 MW. VIPL, which was undergoing Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), operates a 600 MW coal-fired power plant in Butibori, Nagpur. The acquisition followed NCLT approval on June 18, 2025, making VIPL a wholly-owned subsidiary of APL.
