Adani Power on Tuesday said it will acquire GMR Chhattisgarh Energy (GCEL) after a consortium of lenders led by Axis Bank approved its resolution plan for the debt-laden firm. The Gautam Adani-led company will buy 52.38% stake from lenders and the remaining from the GMR Group. GCEL owns an operational 1,370 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh's Raikheda.
