Indian aerospace startup D-Propulse tested a lighter version of its Rotating Detonation Engine (RDE) propulsion system, which generates over 5 kilonewton (kN) of thrust through continuous detonation. It is integrated with an aerospike nozzle, which provides automatic altitude compensation, compactness and optimised structure. Notably, RDEs are more reliable and offer faster response time.
