An Afghan women's refugee team played an international match four years after fleeing the country amid the Taliban’s takeover in a FIFA-organised tournament in Morocco. They lost 1-6 to Chad in the four-team friendly event, which also features Tunisia and Libya. The Afghanistan women's national team last played an international match in 2021, when they lost 0-5 to Qatar.
