After 2 traffic fire incidents, Kolkata shuts down 13 hotels

Several hotels in Kolkata are facing action over alleged fire safety issues. Authorities have shut down 13 hotels, asked 16 others to vacate and issued show-cause notices to 50+ hotels in Kolkata and 29 in other districts. Inspections found problems such as expired fire licences, locked emergency exits and other safety concerns.
