Hindu organisations staged a protest in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, over the alleged illegal construction of a mosque in the Jail Road area. Earlier, similar protests broke out in Shimla. To disperse the crowd in Mandi, police used water cannons. "Three hundred police personnel have been deployed, and police nakas placed at the entrance of Mandi town," police added.
