Chinese researchers at Fudan University developed brain-spinal interface that restores movement in paralysed patients. A team led by Professor Jia Fumin constructed a nerve bypass between the brain and spinal cord with AI assistance by implanting electrodes in a four-hour procedure in one of the patients. The patient regained leg movement within 24 hours post-operation, Fudan University stated.
